"The hand of God is on those who look to Him." - Ezra 7:11-8:14
From our cruise ship we could see this very special old church surrounded by lush vegetation. Our Lady of Lourdes was built in 1898 by Catholic missionaries who landed on this hill top. It was very evocative. Once ashore we made the short, step path trek to the summit. The trip is part of the visit as it reveals at each new step, a panoramic view of spectacular scenery over Sandalwood, Jinek and Santal Bays and Easo Beach, a popular humpback whale watching area. With a simple architecture, this small quaint white chapel is topped by a statue of the Virgin to identify it from a distance.
This amazing cloud coverage appeared the moment I arrived although, I think I was the only one who noticed, which I like to call "The hand of God!"
