As I pulled into the driveway that encircled the house, I felt my baby move. This was my first-born, and I believed she was as excited as I was every time I arrived at this destination.
I talked to Rose many times a week on the telephone, but on the weekend, I couldn't wait to inhale the smell of freshly brewed coffee and feel the warmth of her welcoming kitchen.
I had come here at least a hundred times throughout my lifetime, but today I was turning 25 years old. The visit was special, but what I did not know was that it would be my last visit with this most incredible woman, the person I had admired all my life. This was the day she told me I was expecting "a girl" ~ a daughter.
Four days later, Rose passed away, and three months later, I experienced a miracle. My pain became my joy: My baby girl was born exactly as Rose had told me.
